One of the issues with MicrosoftsSurface Duoline was trying to pick up support for dual-screen and spanned app experiences.
I recently picked up the newSamsung Galaxy Z Fold 5while visiting Samsung in Korea.

The all new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is pretty great.
However, suppose you tilt the Fold 5 into the other orientation (so the crease goes horizontally).
Thats how it should look!
So, thats cool.

YouTube defaults to its tablet experience on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, but it’s mostly OK.
I must rotate the phone because Google cant code for the Z Foldsadmittedly odd aspect ratio.
Gmail on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is disappointing to use.
The same goes for Google Maps.

Google Maps is just a bigger version of itself on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Thats shameful, although perhaps not unexpected, given Googles track record.
What about Microsoft apps?

Microsoft gets its Outlook and To Do apps right on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Of course, you may wonder how Microsoft fairs on the Z Fold 5.
The answer is mostly excellent.

Some secondary apps like LinkedIn, Microsoft 365, and Authenticator dont do much.
Microsoft Authenticator is forgivable since its rarely used, but LinkedIn and Microsoft 365 should be overhauled.
Microsoft Edge turns into a desktop-looking web client with tabs at the top.

Its OK, but adding vertical tabs would be much better for this form factor.
