-Xbox & gaming-Surface & hardware-Windows & software
Leaks are frequent in the tech and video games industries.
They come in all shapes, sizes, and severities, and from a wide variety of sources.

We may be looking at a potential future for Xbox here, but these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt.
Not all of it, though, as we’ve also seen recent leaks from theSurfacehardware division andWindows.
As my colleague Richard Devine said: The Microsoft bucket has many holes right now.
Here’s every recent leak hailing from Microsoft, including Xbox, Surface, Windows, and beyond.

We may be looking at a potential future for Xbox here, but these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt.
Many of these plans are older, and strategies are constantly changing.
Even then, companies as large as Microsoft are always considering a variety of paths forward.
The price is listed as remaining the same as the Xbox Series X at $499.

Project Brooklin, a mid-generation refresh of the Xbox Series X, features a brand-new design and a multitude of improvements.
There’s also no mention of efficiency or performance improvements, nor does the internal RAM increase from 10GB.
Finally, it seems like the company is planning to do exactly that.
Project Sebile is coming with the Xbox Series X|S mid-gen refreshes detailed above.

The Xbox Series S will also be refreshed with Project Ellewood, but it won’t be as exciting as Project Brooklin.
As for the planned release of all these products, Microsoft outlined a roadmap in the leaked documentation.
Of course, this generation of console gaming isn’t going to last forever.
There’s also mention of “cloud hybrid games,” which are detailed more in other documentation below.

Project Sebile finally sees the Xbox Wireless Controller get a major refresh with new features.
Finally, getting the upcoming Sebile controller in the XDL is in the works.
The same is true for the mid-gen Xbox Series X being supported by the XDL.
Although, plans can always change here.

Ahead of whatever the next-generation of console gaming is, Microsoft is planning a mid-gen Xbox Series X|S refresh, a new Xbox controller, and possibly more Xbox Design Lab integrations.
Xbox also hints that this same experience can come to handheld devices.
If Microsoft is going this route, then work on this gear may have already started.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell since these documents are older.

2024 could be an incredible year for Xbox, but only if these plans remain solid.
Of course, strategies for Xbox Cloud Gaming are likely constantly changing.
Microsoft’s ambitions to acquire Nintendo
This one is a bit, erm, silly.
Apparently,Xbox head Phil Spencer has discussed in the past a desire for Microsoft to acquire… Nintendo.

The current Xbox Series X|S generation is still in full swing, but Microsoft is already looking ahead to what’s next.
Still,do you want to see Microsoft acquire Nintendo?
A perfect example being internal conversations atMicrosoft discussing the PS5 reveal and years later the PS5 price hikes.
Except, now we have even more information on the topic.

This graph provides an overview of what Xbox is currently working on, what it’s considering for the future, and what should be left in the hands of partners.
The Xbox team was also very confident in the complete package they had put together.
There should also be a brighter HDR-capable display and an upgraded haptic touchpad.

The future of Xbox is a little less blurry now, and it seems to feature a lot more of the cloud.

Despite struggles getting the market moving, the cloud may still be the best way to reach millions of untapped users.

Microsoft envisions mobile controllers for cloud gaming, although these weren’t funded when the documents were first created.

These timelines are already inaccurate, but some of these projects may still happen.
