Razer sure proved me wrong.

I love color in my setups, so naturally I’d be a fan of RGB smart lights.

This review was made possible thanks to review samples provided by Razer.

It’s a little pricy to get a full Gamer Room setup, but the packaging for each product is compact and well-designed.

The company had no input nor saw the contents of this review prior to publication.

After setup, you’re able to control every product with the Gamer Room mobile apporRazer Synapse.

That means millions of colors and plenty of ways to find the perfect combination for your setup.

Razer Aether Light Strip (2m) | $129.99 at Razer

I’ll start with the Aether Light Strip, which replaces my Nanoleaf light strip from before.

The Razer Aether Light Bulb is again entering a competitive market, but this is a good light bulb.

Yes, there’s Chroma RGB lighting on the rear, but I honestly never really notice it.

One, the adhesive on the Razer Aether Light Strip is simply not strong enough.

This is especially frustrating because of how expensive the initial Aether Light Strip purchase is.

Altogether, it’d cost $160 just to line the edge of my desk with these lights.

Razer Aether Lamp Pro | $129.99 at Razer

There’s something about smart home tech that simply makes it impossible to just “get it right.”

I just wish the light strip clung to my desk more tightly than it does.

The Aether Lamp Pro has ended up being one of my favorite office decorations.

Razer Synapse can take over from the Gamer Room app if you want it to, and the monitor light can make your webcam look much better.

Ideally the control puck attaches to the underside of your desk to stay out of the way, but the adhesive wasn’t strong enough to last.(Image credit: Windows Central | Zachary Boddy)

You can see the remains of the hub’s useless adhesive on the underside of my desk.
