Mousepads don’t get a lot of fanfare for an understandable reason.

Is it really worth spending $100 just on your mousepad, though?

As you might’ve suspected already, the answer depends largely on how much you value form over function.

When it’s not plugged in, it looks just like any other hard mousepad.

This review was made possible thanks to a pre-release review sample provided by Razer.

The company had no input nor saw the contents of this review prior to publication.

The Firefly V2 Pro does also have a built-in USB throw in-A port for your mouse’s wireless dongle.

This is my first personal experience with a hard mousepad, and I was shocked by the improvement.

I’m using theRazer Basilisk V3 Proat the moment, and it effortlessly glides across the Firefly V2 Pro.

It’s convenient, sure, but it also reduces the potential of wireless interference.

Using the rainbow spectrum for every RGB device gets overstimulating fast, but I have to admit Razer’s Chroma accessories look great even then.

No one is buying the Razer Firefly V2 Pro just for these qualities, though.

Admit it you’re here for the RGB.

This is the world’s first fully illuminated mousepad, and it frankly looks incredible.

Having an extra USB port for your mouse dongle is great, but I am not a fan of the placement.

For the lovers of RGB and lights, though, this is a mousepad unlike any other.

It’s a simple accessory, and Razer paid attention to the details to get absolutely everything right.

This still didn’t impact me much, but it’s worth mentioning.

I prefer solid colors with a lot of RGB accessories, but you can see how the top corners of the Firefly V2 Pro are brighter than the rest of the mousepad.

A smaller complaint is that the two USB ports at the top are weirdly spaced out.

I know I’m nitpicking, but there’s not much else to do with this product.

It’s not even the only hard RGB-equipped mousepad.

At 100% brightness, the Firefly V2 Pro is definitely a visual spectacle.

Do you know why?

Because the entire surface is lit up with RGB lights.

If function is more important than form, this isn’t a practical purchase.

There are far more affordable hard mousepads that accomplish basically the exact same thing but without the added flair.

Whether that’s worth it to you is something only it’s possible for you to decide.
