New this year is quite a lot.
For one, the BlackWidow V4 Pro is no longer wireless.
On the left side, you get three customizable buttons in addition to five new macro keys and the Command Dial.
When lit up in a dark room withRazers 3XL Goliathus Chroma mat, it is all absurdly beautiful.
Another new thing this year is the Command Dial, which sits on the keyboards left edge.
By default, rotating the Command Dial left or right changes the keyboards brightness.
I mean, it’s just awesome.
Dont like any of those?
Make your own via Windows shortcuts, volume, and more.
Those functions are also color-coded, giving you another visual indicator.
The major tech specs for the BlackWidow V4 Pro.
Razer allows you to change the order, as well.
Basically, the Command Dial is potentially very powerful for gaming or just using your PC for daily activities.
Its an excellent addition that amplifies this keyboard to a new level.
The BlackWidow V4 Pro in Razer Synapse gives you plenty of options to customize everything including that new Command Dial.
On the left-hand side of the BlackWidow V4 Pro are three other buttons.
But, like all things, it’s possible for you to set them to whatever you want.
And those three side buttons are in addition to the five dedicated macro keys below the Command Dial.
At the rear you have two inputs, both Type-C. One for power, the other as a passthrough for the Type-A port for convivence.
Between all those buttons and knobs, you have so many options for quick-launch customization; its wild.
You get the standard media scroll wheel on the right side of the keyboard.
Below are four round buttons for multimedia controls like previous track, play/pause, next track, and mute.
Green or yellow mechanical switches? I choose green.
But, as you already figured, it’s possible for you to set those to whatever you wish.
Finally, Razer includes awaaaaybetter wrist cushion.
Previously, Razer had wrist cushions with a metal frame, which held the soft material in place.
The new wrist cushion has three-sided Chroma RGB and a new textured design.
It was OK, but your palm could sometimes feel the metal border, defeating its purpose.
The wrist cushion also looks and feels better due to its textured etching.
The magnets hold the wrist rest and serve as RGB contact points.
The keys glow from beneath and through the Doubleshot ABS keycaps.
They are powerful and wont come loose during intense gaming sessions or regular usage.
BlackWidow V4 Pro: Pros
Ive tried a lot of keyboards, including many from Razer.
But, being the first V4 of its lineup, the BlackWidow V4 Pro is a homerun.
The new BlackWidow V4 Pro on the just-as-awesome 3XL Goliathus Chroma mat.
First, the RGB is outstanding.
If youre an RGB nut, this keyboard is a must.
They function just fine, but it is impossible to glance at them and know their function.
I mean, come on 🤤.
That said,those knobs should still be illuminated!
BlackWidow V4 Pro: Should you buy it?
While certainly not cheap, Razers reputation for mainstream, widely available gaming peripherals is worth it for many.
I mean, I thought Id like it, but it turns out I love the darn thing.
Heck, go all in and grab that3XL Goliathus Chroma matand my favorite mouse, theBasilisk V3 Pro.
Just tell your loved ones I said it was OK and a wise decision.
