STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is so choppy on Steam Deck that I would call it unplayable.
For best results, you’ll want to put Steam Deck inProton Experimentalbeta and then change controller configs.
STALKER 2 runs great on ROG Ally and Legion Go as long as you change a few settings.
As such, I don’t recommend playing STALKER 2 on Steam Deck.
That said, I had far better success playing this post-apocalyptic sequel on myROG Ally XandLegion Go.
I just had to tweak a few parameters on either machine before the game would run smoothly.
It will take a for the Steam Deck to compile shaders for STALKER 2.

You’ll get the best experience playing STALKER 2 on ROG Ally if you turn on AFMF and increase VRAM to at least 6G.

This isn’t surprising, given that Legion Go doesn’t supportVRR(variable refresh rate).
You can play STALKER 2 on Legion Go in both handheld mode and FPS mode, but you’ll need to make some setting changes either way.
However, making the above changes will ensure that you get the best playing experience possible on this handheld.
