Well, I’m here to answer those questions and more.

What are the differences between models?
See, that list is longer than you expected, too.
The Inspiron 14 Plus is an unassuming mid-range Windows laptop.
The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus (7441) is a different laptop with some notable advantages over the 7440.
The laptop also comes with a year of Dell’s Premium Support for any issues you may have.
It’s consistently fast, lasts for hours on end, and is well-rounded in almost every category.
That Qualcomm chip makes a big impact.
It’s a great laptop through and through with Intel inside.
This is a very well-rounded mid-range laptop with awesome performance and endurance.
However, this is still an aluminum laptop with very solid construction.
You don’t get alotof ports, but with the Intel-powered 7440 model, you do get a variety.
There are speaker grilles on the keyboard deck alongside a noticeable seam where two panels meet.
Perhaps most importantly, the port selection is different.
One area where the company did not cut corners, though, is the resolution.
The 7440 model starts with a near QHD, 1400p screen, and solid pixel density.
Let’s analyze the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus (7440)’s display first.
The laptop’s design reflects its price tag, with a heavy and curvy chassis.
HDR support is technically here, but it’s essentially useless, thanks to that very limited brightness.
It’s functional and gets the job done.
But this display still doesn’t get bright enough to really take advantage of HDR content.

Yes, that includes the Dell XPS line, even those with discreteNVIDIAGPUs.
It runs amazing, full stop.
The benchmarks reflect some of those differences.

Among laptops powered by the same Core Ultra 7, the Inspiron 14 Plus (7440) performed admirably.
However, the 7441 actuallybeatthe 7440 in Geekbench 6.
The 7440 can get very hot under load, to the point that it even throttles the performance.

The 7441 never throttled during my testing, and it never got too hot to the touch, either.
This isn’t a gaming laptop, after all.
The smaller battery in the 7441 makes a big difference here.

It takes no time at all to become accustomed to this keyboard, although there are some oddities.
For one, the “F9” key simply doesn’t have a secondary function, for some reason.
The input experience of this laptop is definitely saved by the comfy keyboard.
This is a sharp display, but in all other areas it’s fairly average.
All of this can be disabled if you don’t want it, of course.
The pattern continues when you hear both laptops, as well.
At least they get louder than you’d expect.
It’s the brightest or most color accurate display, but it’s functional.
It’s louder, far clearer, boasts noticeably superior low-end, and distorts less at higher volumes.
I can’t move on without first discussing software.
Of course, the ARM 7441 has one softwaredisadvantage, in that not all apps fully support ARM chips.
The 7441’s display is a little better across the board.
My personal recommendation, however, is theASUS Zenbook 14 (UM3406).
This is an awesome value laptop with great performance, battery life, and a gorgeous OLED touch display.
TheSurface Laptop 7is another fantastic option in the same price range.
One of these rear-facing vents is entirely fake.
They’re not terribly vibrant, bright, or smooth.
Even when you’rechoosing from the best Dell laptops, that’s often the case.
Fortunately, neither version of the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus struggles in those particular categories.

The 7441 boasts thinner (and less) vents than the 7440.
There may be a DC port here, but you actually charge the Inspiron 14 Plus through its Type-C port.
This is a surprisingly solid and comfortable keyboard… And an average touchpad.
The 7441 adds facial recognition in addition to the fingerprint sensor included on the 7440.
More speakers for everyone!
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is still my favorite 14-inch laptop, but it also costs a lot more than the Inspiron 14 Plus.
Both Inspiron 14 Plus models are solid, but the 7441 is my favorite of the two.
